It is not possible to cover everything in a statement of faith. We believe the things listed below are absolutes and should be true of any Christ-follower. We are happy to try to answer questions about anything not mentioned below. We also recognize that there are some areas in Scripture which are not completely clear. We refer to these areas as secondary doctrines. There are committed Christ-followers, who believe Scripture is without error, who after much study, hold differing views on these things.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe all humans, by nature, are sinners and that our sins have separated us from the Holy God. We believe that because God loves us, He placed the punishment for our sins upon His perfect Son who died in our place to pay the penalty for our sins. We further believe that it is by grace, through faith, that we are saved. Salvation is the gift of God and not of our works. Acts 20:21 says that we are to practice repentance towards God and faith towards Jesus Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. He convicts people of their sin and their need for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When a person is saved, the Holy Spirit comes to live within them and He is Who enables the believer to live a godly life and be a bold witness for Jesus. We are to seek to obey the command to be filled (the verb means to continually be filled) with the Holy Spirit.
We believe marriage is the first foundation God ever established and that it is a cornerstone of society. While we love people regardless of their choices, we unapologetically teach that, according to Scripture, marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman that is to be faithfully honored as long as both shall live.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe the time will come when the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ and He shall rule forever and ever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
